There are 23 million people in North Korea, and the government uses the threat of going to a prison camp to keep them under control. Some of the descriptions of the camps in this article are pretty disturbing, and offer proof that the same kind of insanity and evil that was found in Nazi Germany and the USSR is still alive and well in governments today. These atrocities and injustices, found on a smaller scale in places like China, Iran and Russia, are a testament and warning that we must protect our rights and do whatever we can to keep the government from becoming too powerful and overbearing. Also, this shows Bush in a good light, siding with the refugees and making it easier for them to come to the US. What's hard to believe, is that the North Korean government insists that the South is maniacal and twisted. The South, however, is much more free than the North, and we, the US, must never take a soft stance against countries that commit atrocities like these. If we don't take a hard stand against them and refuse to take action, we effectively encourage this kind of stuff. I feel that it would be warranted to, at some point, invade North Korea and replace the government with one that the people want, not one that Kim Jong II wants.

Well....as great as invading and displacing the government with one put in by our own government in the name of the people, you have to remember how well that turned out in Iraq. Yes, the people are oppressed and need to be freed. But don't forget that doing that very thing has become a war that has gone on far too long. The North Koreans however are probably more than willing to cooperate with us as they aren't exactly being brainwashed or anything into hating us. But as recent history shows this would be either a quick victory that results in the people siding with our military to overthrow Kim Jong Il and his current government or it will wind up like Iraq. And make the world go "what the hell is wrong with the Americans did they learn nothing from Iraq?" In all fairness though, I would like to see some action against that shrimp bastard.
